As you probably know, I am a write-in candidate for the Howell Board of education election on May8, 2007.
When I decided that I was going to run for school board, I went to the county clerk's office to get the correct
paperwork so I could run. When I got there, they informed me that I had to be a registered voter, so I
went and registered. Then I came back and they found a clause in the Michigan law that kept me from running. The law
stated that anyone who was running for school board had to be a qualified and registered voter by the time the papers are
handed in. This is why I am a write-in candidate, because my 18th birthday was on the 17th and the deadline was on the 13th
of February.
“What is the quality of your intent?
Certain people have a way of saying
things that shake us at the core. Even when the words do not seem harsh or offensive, the impact is shattering. What we could
be experiencing is the intent behind the words. When we intend to do good, we do. When we intend to do harm, it happens. What
each of us must come to realize is that our intent always comes through. We cannot sugarcoat the feelings in our heart of
hearts. The emotion is the energy that motivates. We cannot ignore what we really want to create. We should be honest and
do it the way we feel it. What we owe to ourselves and everyone around is to examine the reasons of our true intent.
My
intent will be evident in the results.”
